Private lives of porn stars

Personal life of porn performers is a mystery to many. Despite the wild popularity and consumption of porn, viewers do not have access to a narrow segment of celebrity news. This year, the Cosmopolitan magazine has dared to explore the terrain by inviting two adult hotties and one director for an interview. Here are a few peculiar highlights from the conversation.

The interviewees

Tanya Tate and Samantha Bentley are two porn beauties who are secretly adored by millions of fans (of course, mostly male). They were joined by Justin Ribeiro dos Santos, who is a porn director, CEO & Founder of Joybear Pictures. They shared quite a few insights, uncovering the inner workings of the much-condemned industry.

Sex in real life

Here, opinions vary. While Samantha finds it hard to have sex off camera at all, her colleague still enjoys it. What they do agree on, though, is that real human sex is and should be a more intimate act reflecting true closeness. Sex in porn is often hard and “animalistic”, and it may affect actors’ perception of intercourse outside work. Members of the film crew could feel the negative impact as well, especially in case of hardcore content.

What adds confusion is insecurity, which may be developed after having sex on camera, with all the angles and facial expressions carefully selected by the crew. Samantha: “I am incredibly self-aware. I spend everyday learning which angles are good, what side my head needs to be on for lighting and so on and so forth, that I have forgotten how to have real sex! Yup, porn stars get insecure too.”

Other aspects:

  • Porn actors may be told to come on demand, which is not easy if their partner is not particularly arousing.
  • Some actors need to put extra effort to keep a pretty “come face”, but some couldn’t care less about it.
  • Some stars keep their porn involvement secret while working regular jobs, such as lawyers, marketers or athletes.
  • One of the niche markets that is currently rising in popularity is “Mother/Daughter” sex roleplay, and some performers refuse to participate in such controversial movies.
  • For many, the job involves all kinds of cosmetic procedures, from sunbeds and waxing to lasering and “having their butt holes bleached”. Unshaved pubic hair, however, is becoming a trend.
  • Production team members should not be “visibly excited” on the set (i.e., have a boner), and as they are focused on the angles and production values, they usually aren’t.
  • Some partners may be visually off-putting, with profuse male sweating, “fluffy belly buttons on girls, scabby feet so bad they had to keep their shoes on, and private regions not cleaned properly”. Personal hygiene may be an issue.
  • A lot of people engaged in the porn industry date and even get married. Couples do form on set sometimes couples weren’t formed on set! However, this could be tricky, as performers basically have sex with their partners’ friends and foes, and breakup is awkward.
